Publication and Malpractice

The Ka Communications Conference to accept for oral presentation at podium and publish full papers in its online proceeding is referring to the general guidelines developed by COPE in terms of publication Ethics and Malpractice. For more information please visit: COPE’s web site.

The Author(s) in submitting an abstract and uploading a paper to the Conference acknowledges that:

• Authors are responsible for obtaining all needed sponsor, employer and/or government approvals of the paper and also
• The full paper to be presented and published in the online Proceedings requires the completion of the Conference Copyright Agreement.
• Authors and their companies/sponsors retain all rights to the published paper.
• The full papers must be prepared according to the KA Paper Template and must be accompanied by a filled and signed Copyright Agreement Form which grants permission to publish it in either printed, CD or electronic form.
• The Author(s) and their submitted full paper(s) must comply with the rules set forth in the following two sections.

1. Abstract and Papers

1. Authors must submit reasonably detailed abstracts. Abstracts must include the title, the author's name, affiliation and lead author e-mail address.
2. Care must be taken to ensure the accuracy of the data entered in submitting the abstract.
3. All submitted abstracts are subject to peer-review process by at least two international reviewers that are experts in the area of the particular paper.
4. The possible decisions include acceptance, acceptance with revisions, or rejection.
5. The decision will be made taking into account the relevance, soundness, significance, originality, readability and language.
6. If authors are encouraged to revise and resubmit a submission, there is no guarantee that the revised submission will be accepted.
7. The paper should not infringe any legal requirement
8. Regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism

2. Authors’ responsibilities

1. Authors must certify that their manuscripts are their original work.
2. Authors must certify that the manuscript has not previously been published elsewhere.
3. Authors must certify that the manuscript is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere.
4. Authors must accept that the paper will be submitted to the Conference peer review process.
5. Authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes.
6. All Authors mentioned in the paper must have significantly contributed to the research/project presented.
7. Authors must state that all data in the paper are real and authentic.
8. Authors must notify the Ka Conference of any conflicts of interest.
9. Authors must identify all sources used in the creation of their manuscript.
10. Authors must report any errors they discover in their published paper to the Conference Organizing Committee.

The Ka Communications Conference is engaged to apply the following general rules in conducting the abstracts Review and in publishing the accepted full papers in the online Proceedings:

A. Reviewers’ responsibilities

1. Reviewers should keep all information regarding papers confidential and treat them as privileged information.
2. Reviews should be conducted objectively, with no personal criticism of the author.
3. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
4. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
5. Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers

B. Editor’ responsibilities

1. Editor has complete responsibility and authority to accept and to publish a paper in the online Proceedings.
2. Editor is responsible for the overall quality of the published material.
3. Editor should publish corrections when needed.
4. Editor should preserve the anonymity of reviewers.
5. Editor should ensure that the paper conforms to internationally accepted Ethical guidelines.
6. Editor should not allow any conflicts of interest between staff, authors, reviewers and board members.
7. Editor should ensure that the submitted abstract are reviewed without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
